Danse Espagnole
Danse Espagnole (The Spanish Dance) is a character dance from the ballet Swan Lake. It is usually performed as a pas de quatre of two men and women (Mariinsky version) or as a pas de quatre of a female soloist and three men (Bolshoi version). With the extensive help from the flamenco dancer extraordinaire, Marja Rautakorpi, I created a female solo variation of the Spanish dance. The choreography is performed dancing en pointe while playing the castanets.
